Carpet Diem
You are a lost soul that used to live in a huge castle. There's nothing in this castle you loved more than your carpets. Once you perished, the love for the carpets has transformed. You can now only move unbothered on the carpets. If you move on the bare floor, you will lower your movement ability! Use this information wisely, as without it, you will not be able to walk the rooms of your once beautiful home.
Since this game was part of the GMTK game jam, we sadly did not have time to make an in-game tutorial, explaining the slightly non-intuitive rules. If you find yourself lost or frustrated about how the game works, read about it in the description below.
RULES
In this example you will see the basic rules of the game. The little ghost (left) is you. In the top left, you can see that it says 0/infinity. This indicates that you are currently using 0 moves out of infinitely many available moves

To pick where to move to, you use WASD or the arrow keys to move in a single direction. As you move further from the starting position, you will see the left number go up. This indicates how many moves you will use if you decide to move to this spot. The wavy ghost dude indicates where you will end up if you decide to move.

Once you press space, you will move to the chosen spot. As you move, you will see a bunch of numbers pop up. These numbers indicate how many moves you will have available in the next round. You will see that when you cross over a floor (brown tiles), you get no more moves. When you cross over a carpet (red tile), you get +1 move. In this example, you end up with 3 maximum moves for your next turn (you cross over 3 carpets and 2 floors). This is indicated by the right number in the top left UI.

Death Blocks
These are hovering blocks you cannot finish your move on. If you do you die and the level will restart. However, you can go through these blocks without dying.

Shifter Blocks

As for death blocks, you can go through shifter blocks without interacting with them. If you land on them, you will be shifted by a single block in the direction where the shifter is pointing. This shift, however, will not count towards your maximum movement points.
Knights

Knights act differently than other blocks, similarly to how Sokoban boxes act. You cannot pass through knights. However, if you stop ON a knight, the knight will be moved by one block in the direction that you came from (like a Sokoban box).
